As I posted b4, I am now at 6mg Sub. My doc says that MaineCare (Medicaid here in Maine) often expects patients to jump-off after 30 days at 2mg. IF NOT, I do have MANY 2mg pieces from my routine of decreasing doseage when MY BODY feels ready.-No longer, no sooner. So, if they refuse to pay after my last 30 doses at 2mg, I can go to 1mg for quite a while-30 days as of right now, in fact! What should I do after spending enough time at 2mg?-Go down to 1mg for 30 days, OR-Just jump off at 2??

it's not advisable to jump off at 2mg. Here in the UK, we have 0.2, 0.4 and 0.6mg Suboxone tablets, and people use then when they reduce to good effect. I would certainly not think that doing 2mg for 30 days and then stopping is conducive to a good recovery.

Here in the US

We only have 8mg, 4mg, and 2mg strips.-NO TABS-Reckitt pulled the tabs to push the strips as a "safety and diversion" precaution. My doc says VERY RARELY will MaineCare pay for less than 2mg per day! It's NUTS!! But he says that IF I NEED THAT LATER, he will "try"! Ughhh!! That's why I've been storing away 2mg pieces daily (or as many days as I can-to cut inhalf later to get 1mg when MaineCare stops paying)!!

Can you not cut the strips then, surely they'd be easier to cut up than a traditional tablet? I didn't realise they no longer did the sublingual tabs at all in the US. So now every person on Suboxone in the US will be having to use the strips?

Subs come in strips, Subutex comes in pills

I DO cut the strips. That's how MaineCare pays for 4mg (1/2 of an 8 strip for 30 days is cheaper than 30 of the 4mg strips, so splitting IS allowed). But the SCRIPT can not be approved for 1mg by MaineCare for some ungodly reason!!-unless the doc does some convincing writing on the authorization=LOTS of work apparently!!
