TAGS and the importance of them....

In following thru on some research and study o how I can remedy our reading, joining and posting exposure since the new forum UPDATES a few months ago....In the last few days I have took some liberties to put in actions some of the TIPS and Ideas on how to improve and possibly regain the memberships we have lost  and are not getting as many as we use to...NOW SOME MIGHT BLAME THIS ON a multitude of reasons but in reality it comes down to the forum is now on the internet as a newbie forum....WHAT USE TO MAKE OUR FORUM SHOW UP in simple Google/Internet search engines....NO LONGER WORKS IN OUR FAVOR....and well like I said after reading, discussing and experimenting myself I have found a few things that will improve the access, searchability and exposure for our forum...

FYI just for basic info: An Internet forum, or message board, is an online discussion site where people can hold conversations in the form of posted messages.[1] They differ from chat rooms in that messages are often longer than one line of text, and are at least temporarily archived. Also, depending on the access level of a user or the forum set-up, a posted message might need to be approved by a moderator before it becomes visible.

Forums have a specific set of jargon associated with them; e.g. a single conversation is called a "thread", or topic.

A discussion forum is hierarchical or tree-like in structure: a forum can contain a number of subforums, each of which may have several topics. Within a forum's topic, each new discussion started is called a thread, and can be replied to by as many people as so wish.

Depending on the forum's settings, users can be anonymous or have to register with the forum and then subsequently log in in order to post messages. On most forums, users do not have to log in to read existing messages.

The reason behind this thread tho....is to discuss the importance of TAGS.... which under all the reply boxes before you hit post/submit you see a "Tag Box" where you can take the important keywords, short phrases and relevant and/or desired audience triggers (not the same as in addiction lol) example: if the thread is about Mom's that are on methadone and Pregnant...tags would be NAS, Pregnancy, social services etc...if you discussed some of these in your post etc...Every Time you place tags in the boxes before you submit...it makes this forum more apt to be pulled up when someone is searching the internet for these issues in and for help/support on these issues....As you can clearly see I have put many tags in the main forum from the admin panel but you all can help by putting tags regarding your posts and threads that would help and when you put them in the Tag Box...they make their way up to the main tag box at the top of the forum...
