Oh no, I'm so sorry that you're having a tough time with it. Is anyone else in the family helping out? If not can you tell them that they need to pull their weight too?

If she's getting really sick, is getting her a nurse or something an option? Anything so that all the responsibility doesn't always fall upon you. It seems very unfair that you are having to deal with everything, and in that situation I can understand that it would be a massive trigger.

We're here to support you though, so when you're getting really pissed off just come on here and vent!!

Way, I'm so sorry that your Mother is sick, and *very* sick at that.. I'm glad you're able to log on here and post during this time..

I didn't ever think of things that way that a parent could be a trigger, but they probably were! Though I love them SO much and miss them both SO much now that I'm older and they are gone, I think I could handle it better, but who really knows? Took care of my Mother during the 4 years she was dying of cancer and for some reason our relationship then was *so much easier*.. I think I went there knowing we could do anything we wanted for pleasure so we did.. Ate a hell of a lot of chocolate ice cream!!! She would be happy and a lot of fun to discuss issues with for a while and then just fade, because she had no energy. I started to appreciate her indignation over politics and so forth. I'm not telling you to do that, since we all have an unique rapport with our parents, but I do wish that your experience and hers will be peaceful, and that she will get well soon.
K.

I AM BACK....

Thank God...I think Mother's Day (really super hard time for me) plus taking care of my mother is what was killing me these last few weeks.  I will try to take some time to explain in depth my trigger issues with my mother but I am just so relaxed to be off the clock now for a few weeks I do not wanna go there iyswim.

I have missed the forum and you guys and will do a crash course in catching back up to speed on all f you.  Thanks for keeping our forum here for each other and any newbies as I have no fear having sapphire looking out for me...

It's important that you tale regualr breaks so you can decompress from the whole situation, as you don't want to make yourself ill from all the stress.

Anyway, it's great to have you back around, it's not the same without you!! x

BTW, I am still having problem when I type a post, go to hit post, and it takes me back to the Lefora login screen, and then after I have entered the login (again, as I was already logged in!) I lose all that I have typed, which is getting really annoying.

I have spoken to Lefora, but they haven't been at all helpful, could you speak to them about it? They might listen to you more, as they are not at all helpful to me!!

Thanks Way, it's driving me mad, as I'm losing loads of posts, and retyping them in getting a real PITA. Lefora were no help at all when I asked them on several occasions about it.

Hi Philly, long time no see!! I hope everything's OK? Did you ever get your dose sorted out?

I ended up having to stay where they put me.. Those p&ts got expensive,( wanting one every 5 mg increase and loss of takehomes until stable) I just couldn't do all of that.. I feel alot better now though. Hope your doing good sapph.. Yea I've been very busy been having to take care of my gma full time which I chose to do because I love her, and wanted to make sure she got great treatment. I'm usually with her 14 hours-15 hrs a day 6 days a week so It's a handfull.. She's sweet, but she's about to turn 90, and has dimensia..

That's not too good about the dreaded TN P&T tests, but at least you're feeling sort of OK. I think that looking after your gma is a lovely thing to do, it's what I will do for my parents if they need it, as I really don't want them in a home where the staff really don't care and are only there for the money. We've had a lot of high profile cases of abuse of people in nursing homes here, and I don't want any of my family in that position ever.

Yes Philly that is really nice....

@sapphire we have a nigh incident rate of elderly abuse over here in the U.S. too.  No way would I let my Mom or Grandma go to one...They hide it well with dementia patients....

They are thinking about passing a law over here so that all care homes have cameras in all the rooms, so if abuse occurs, it can be caught. The people that were caught so far were caught because families had placed hidden cameras in the patients rooms.
